A project close to our hearts is literally bearing fruit — fruit for a sustainable future.

Back in 2021 we successfully completed the cultivation project for the green lentil. Now, with the red Château lentil, we have been able to harvest a new variety. A long-familiar crop has once again become native here: until around 100 years ago — according to contemporary accounts — lentils were grown in the Paderborn region. As we have not yet been able to determine which variety or varieties it was, this time we chose the small but fine, aromatic and subtly nutty lentil that originally comes from France.
